Make it so that no one can cause an overage.
No we're all on Subscription Entitlement Service, why have you not implemented a way to restrict licences to only those that we own. Why are we not allowed to disable users from accidentally generating an overage? Why is it so hard for us to argue our case and get charges dropped, when we are clearly not the only business that has this problem?
PLEASE! We also live in fear of overages. It's not fair. Every other software provider we use can manage this. We are only small and the fees hurt us badly. We have customised the alert message to instruct users never to click on the green button, but this is not fool-proof. Bentley can write some amazing software, so why can't they write an effective licence management tool that delivers what so many of its customers are asking for?
PLEASE BENTLEY!, we live in fear of overages. Anyone know how to setup PC clients & Bentley online so that we can just use the licenses that we own?
Autodesk makes this pretty simple, as does every other software vendor we buy from.
Love your software Bentley, your licensing model is sh$thouse.
So sick of overages when a new employee accidentally clicks the wrong button on one of the byzantine licensing options in maxsurf, or forgets to check out a license, or just double clicks on a maxsurf suite file.
BENTLEY - its all open for you, its open access for all!
(we will bill you later...)
SMALL BUSINESS OWNER - thank you! would have preferred that your software blocked that file open. Oh well, another couple of thousand $ down the drain
That's not going to be possible. SELECTserver had no capability to detect usage in real time and, as it's being deprecated, it will not be added.
Product versions licensed through Subscription Entitlement Service can do threshold alerting to let users know that their usage may put them over the configured threshold. We leave it to organizations to communicate to their users what they are allowed to do when presented with that message.
