The new threshold alert system has several issues:
a. - It does not allow for users to out-right prevent new instances being opened when license limits are reached
b. - Has a giant green button that allows the user to exceed the license limit that can easily be accidentally clicked (honestly it appears as tho Bentley is intentionally encouraging people to exceed the license limit). This should be a small, difficult to click option that the user must actively search for in order to exceed the license limit.
c. - Missing a second pop-up if someone does click to exceed the license limit asking them to confirm. (Necessary to help prevent from accidental clicks costing thousands of dollars per click).
Honestly they way the system is setup now appears to be one of the most blatant instances profiteering in the face of customer service I've seen in a professional product
Thanks for the feedback. The intent of the threshold alerting system is to allow users to make an informed decision about exceeding the admin-configured threshold. It is not to block usage completely or to even make it more difficult to get into the product if they have a job to do. We can look in to changing the color and size of the button, but it does clearly state that they are making an Acknowledgement of the fact that proceeding will exceed the threshold, so I'm not sure a second dialog add anything if they're already acknowledged to proceed.
I would recommend taking advantage of the ability to put your own note into that message so you can give your users specific instructions on what they should do if presented with this dialog and also use the notifications and reports available in Subscription Analytics to follow up with users that are not following your direction.
