Restrict users from exceeding licenses. Merged

I would like to prohibit users from choosing overage when all seats are currently in use. We just had a new user activate a term a license out of ignorance. It's a $1000 mistake and I'm stuck begging for forgiveness.

It would appear that the exceeding LIcenses is a mechanisim set up by Bentley to trick a user into overuse.

We already did this. We have done everything we can, but it doesn't stop. The colouring of the buttons plays on psychology to make sure users sometimes accidentally press the green one and incur a £800 charge.

My junior staff cannot order so much as a post-it note without prior approval from management, yet can instigate a software charge equal to one quarter's usage for just a few minutes of accidental overuse and management does not get informed until AFTER its already too late.

Other software providers can deal with this effectively. I don't see why Bentley should be any different. Please allow us to implement a hard block so that NO overuses can be triggered. An alert is not good enough.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. We'll take this request into consideration.

But, in the meantime, I would suggest taking advantage of the custom text you can provide on the threshold alert dialog to ensure your users know what's expected of them when they're presented with this decision.
